Veteran actor and wrestler Dara Singh passes away


The veteran wrestler Dara Singh Randhawa, popularly known as Dara Singh passed away at his Mumbai residence this morning. He was 84. Born on 19 November 1928 in Dharmoochak village of the Amritsar district, Dara Singh became an immortal figure by playing the lead role of Lord Hanuman in the TV serial Ramayana. He passed away at around 7.30 AM.
Dara Singh was not feeling well for quite some days now. The cause of his death was reported to be a ruthless brain damage after a cardiac arrest. He was discharged from the Kokilaben hospital in Mumbai last night. He was on ventilator since.
Dara Singh fought hundreds of professional bouts. The greatness of this man was that he never lost even a single bout in his career. In the 1950s he started his career as a film actor and remained one until the last year.
We salute the real life hero – the Hanuman of all of us!
